Lycra

Lycra

Lycra fabric is Invista’s brand of spandex which is a synthetic fiber that is known to be elastic to an extreme point. One unique thing about lycra is the fact that no matter how much it is stretched, it would still amazingly return to its true length. It is commonly used, in combination with other like fabrics in the production of swimsuits, bras, socks, wetsuits, leggings and cycling wears.

The Lycra fabric is made up of polymer chains that have portions that are both flexible and rigid and this is what makes it possible for the fiber to stretch and still retain the original shape.
